"I owe my life to that man and his family. I will always remember Luke as an opinionated, unselfish, courageous, funny man; my brother, my doc." -Tony Lino, Marine who served with Luke
"Even though many wonderful things have happened in my life in the past five years, I still feel that something is missing, and I know that something is Luke. He will forever be in my heart, and I will remember him always. After all, the sun never sets on a bad ass." -Allison Klusmann Tomko, high school friend
"I feel like I am truly lucky to have has such a great friend in my life, even if it was only for a short time."
-Sara Prulhiere Hartzler, high school friend
"He is a great man and deserves more than the short life he lived. I will say that he was happy in his job and he was proud of his accomplishments." -Jim Judice, Corpsman with Luke
"Just in the time I met Luke, I knew I had a friend for a lifetime. It was an honor to spend the last day of Luke's life with him. We were joking around, smiling and having a good time. I know that day a true HERO was killed and my life was changed, but my brother Luke will live with me forever." -Mark McDuffie, Air Force member who served with Luke
"I had just gotten my brand new Silverado and this was the first time I had driven it out in the snow. I was following a little too close to Luke, due to the slight incline in the road Luke was stuck on the hill, spinning his tires, but going no where. I saw Luke sitting there, stuck, so I slammed on my breaks but all I did was slide down into the rear end of Luke's truck, boom. As our Dads showed up, I had to try to explain the situation to them over Luke's laughter. He thought it was so funny that my brand new truck has the front end all smashed up, and his older truck had merely a dent in the bumper."
-Chris Rege, high school friend
"These are the things that I remember about Luke, these are the things I'll always remember. His quirky sense of humor, his thoughtfulness, his kindness, the way he made me feel like I was the only person in the world he wanted to talk to. Luke has touched my life in a very unique way, and I am certain there are many more people who are experiencing the same feeling. We have all lost a great friend, but I am forever thankful for the opportunity to have had a person like Luke in my life. Through those who love him, Luke's memory will live on forever." -Britany Prochnow, high school friend
"One of my favorite memories of Luke was on New Year's Eve 2004. I had a party at my house, and for some reason we decided to watch a movie. So of course Luke picks out "Emperor's New Groove" - which we all loved. Luke quoted the entire movie and we couldn't stop laughing." -Lisa Kot, high school friend
"Out of all my sisters' friends, Luke was the only one who I saw as an older brother. I only knew him for a few short years, but I will always remember the joy and laughter that he brought into my life." -Abby Prulhiere, family friend
